The Parish Council has seven unpaid members who are, in principle, elected every four years. In recent years there have not been seven nominations for election and volunteers have been co-opted to the Council. The Council is assisted by a paid Clerk.

The Council normally meets on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall every six weeks or so. Dates of meetings are available at the link to the right.

The Council is responsible for looking after and maintaining the playing field and the play equipment. There is currently a programme to replace the play equipment with more up-to-date and safer equipment.

Working under the wing of the Parish Council, the volunteer group, The Village Green and Village Spring Restoration Project team has worked tirelessly to raise funding for this project. A scheme in three distinct phases has created a restored Village Pond (or pit, as it is on Pit Hill), brought back a spring water source by sinking a new 30m borehole and cleared and landscaped the whole area.

Additionally an iconic bus shelter in oak topped with 200 year old tiles from an old barn in the village has been installed. With new matching village stonework around the 300+ years old Village oak and original Spout and oak benches, the area is now maturing into an idyllic and satisfying Village Green setting.

The council chases the district council and the county council about the provision of services in the village such as street signs, highway maintenance and mowing.

The council currently levies a "precept" of £6500 each year from council tax to pay for these activities. The council is always looking at ways to obtain further cash from grants and other sources. The accounts of the council are made up after the end of the financial year in March. Any enquiries about the accounts should be directed to the Clerk of the Council. The auditor is Clement Keys, Calthorpe Road, Birmingham.
